What we collect
UPSC MAP stores learning progress, quiz results, XP, preferences, and cookie-consent choices in your browser's local storage. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. Payment providers process donations on their own checkout pages.
Why we use it
Local learning data lets the app show your progress, revision queue, and preferences. Contact information is used only to respond to your request. We do not sell learning data or use it for cross-site behavioural advertising.
Storage, deletion & control
Most learning records remain on your device until you clear browser data or use Reset Progress. Clearing browser storage or Reset Progress removes locally stored progress and cannot be undone. We cannot restore data that was never sent to our servers.
Third parties
Razorpay and PayPal handle payment information when you choose to donate; their own privacy notices and terms apply. Our map imagery or other external services may receive standard technical information such as IP address and browser requests when loaded.
Your privacy requests
You may ask about personal data held by us, request correction or erasure where applicable, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or raise a grievance at [email protected]. Include enough detail for us to identify and respond to your request safely.
Security & changes
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service, but no internet or device storage is completely secure. We may update this notice as the product or law changes; the effective date above will be updated when we do.
This notice is designed around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the phased Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. It is an operational privacy notice, not legal advice.
